Welcome to the website of the Office of the Secretary of the Faculties of the University of Chicago.  This office has primary responsibility for supporting faculty governance within the University, including the staffing of periodic meetings of many of the University’s Ruling Bodies, documentation of proceedings, and the conduct of faculty elections.  It also provides assistance to a variety of ad hoc faculty committees appointed by the President and Provost and coordinates the development and production of the University’s annual New Faculty Directory.

The Office of the Secretary of the Faculties works in concert with the President’s and Provost’s Offices, as well as the Deans of the Divisions, Schools, and the College, and the Spokesperson of the Committee of the Council.

This website provides information regarding faculty governance within the University, as well as links to other institutional resources that may be of interest.  The approved sets of Minutes of Council of the University Senate meetings and Spokesperson’s Reports from October 2017 to the present are available in Box, in the University Senate P folder.
